The .psd format is the Adobe Photoshop data format which can be read on any machine that has Adobe Photoshop installed. It is cross platform and can be used on both PCs and Macs. The PSD source file included has the source image files usually in a sliced format which allows you to customize and make changes to the images on your template. This makes it very useful for customizing your website as you see fit. If any additional fonts are required, they are included with the Photoshop file.
